Replace any aging battery in iPod classic or iPod video with this new battery. These batteries fit in the same location as the original specification battery. This is the same thickness as the slim batteries used originally, so they are compatibile with both slim and thick iPods. They have a 750mah capacity, which is similar to original batteries from these iPods (batteries of between 550mAh and 850mAh were used originally depending on the model and year). These batteries will offer a runtime similar to that of the original battery, but may be slightly shorter or longer depending on what the iPod originally shipped with. When paired with a flash mod board (eg iFlash) these batteries will offer increased runtime.

Battery Use

When installing a new battery, it is best to fully charge the device, and then use it to drain it to empty. Then, recharge it fully again. This helps the battery management system understand the new capacity and provide better charge level estimates.

Factors affecting battery life include screen brightness, media file type (mp3, m4a), storage media type (HDD, SSD, SD), media type technology (mSATA, SDXC UHS-1). Apparently other issues such as a faulty headphone socket may also impact battery life. Battery longevity can be affected by storage temperatures and charging behaviour.
