iPod Classic / iPod Video Repair, Refurbish and Upgrade Service - 2 Year Warranty
Use this listing to submit an order for a refurbishment service for your existing iPod classic or iPod video.
Upgrade your exisitng iPod with a range of capacity upgrades, and a new repalcement battery at the same time. This listing offers options for a range of different capacity upgrades for iPod classic or iPod video. All capacity upgrades include a battery replacement and a housing refurbishment as standard. Alternatively, if all you're looking for is a battery replacement, there is an option for only that service also available.
The process is first to purchase one of the services, and then send your existing iPod over. Once recieved, work will be done to upgrade and refurbish it, before it is then sent back to you (this is why disptach times are so long - shipment occurs once the iPod has been recieved and then completed. Fulfilment times will generally be one week from reciept of iPod, to give time for battery testing).
If you'd like your iPod repaired as part of the upgrade service, please message ahead of an order. An individual quotation can be provided for the specific problem. If an iPod arrives with a fault that wasn't disclosed before the order, it will be returned with the fault still present.

All of the above flash mods include a housing refurbishment (with a new front panel of the same colour as before) including a new stainless steel rear casing with the proper capacity etching. This applies to both 5th gen and 6th/7th gen iPods. Flash mods use either a Compact Flash to SD solution or an iFlash Quad microSD card adapter depending on the capacity. SD cards used are SanDisk microSDXC. All refurbishments are fully tested before being shipped back to you, to ensure that everything is working properly. All flash mod services inlcude a 2 year warranty for the components added.
Any refurbishment service can also be combined with a repair service (not available separately). Message about the fault in question and we can quote a repair fee for your chosen service. We'll then update the listing so that the [repair quotation] price is the correct value, allowing for a proper eBay sale and full money-back guarantee coverage.

Compatability Considerations
Certain models of iPod classic and iPod video have limitations on what capacity of storage they can work with. A chart is available in the listing images. iPod video (5th Generation, glossy plastic front) is compatible with any capacity, but bear in mind some 5th gen models have difficulty with song databases that have more than 20,000 tracks. This limitation can be worked around by using Rockbox, if desired.
iPod classic is limited to 128GB of flash storage due to a difference in the iPod's firmware. However, the final version of iPod classic (160GB 2009) doesn't have this limitation, so can be upgraded with capacities beyond 128GB. You can identify this version by its software version (2.0.4 or 2.0.5 if fully updated) or by its thickness (10.5mm thick instead of 13.5mm).
How it works
- Decide if a repair service is also needed and arrange that if necessary
- Make an order for your desired capacity
- Ship your iPod to us, including a shipping note that details your name, your eBay username, your return address, and your order specifications
- Wait a few days for the work to be completed and tested
- Receive your iPod back via Royal Mail tracked 48
Initial shipping (from you to us) is the buyer's responsibility. Please let us know if there are issues or delays. If we don't get an iPod within the disptach time (30 days) we won't be able to ship it back in time! Also be aware that if we get an iPod that is not upgradeable (dead, not working, not compatible with the chosen upgrade) we will have to ship your iPod back un-upgraded. Take care to understand the limitations before placing an order!
Bear in mind that any data on the iPod will of course be lost in the upgrade process. Make sure your music / data is backup up before you send it! Additionally, while the aim is to get refurbishments done within a few days, issues might arise and delays sometimes happen. We'll keep in contact if this is the case.
If you're an international buyer, please message ahead of any order so an arrangement for shipping can be agreed. Things have gotten a little hairy for EU shipping so bear that in mind if you're in Europe. Other overseas buyers will need to be aware that shipping (both from you and from us) will be somewhat costly. As per new customs rules between the UK and the rest of the world, expect customs charges on ANY shipment from any location.

Free delivery is offered on all UK orders. Express shipping options may be available depnding on the products purchased. All orders from the Stockroom are aimed to be dispatched within 2 working days. Any orders that include Configure-to-Order items will have lead times longer than this: check your order for details.
Items are dispatched via Royal Mail or UPS. Tracking is offered on orders above £25.
If you do not receive your order within 2 weeks of purchase, please contact us and we will aim to locate your item(s). Your statutory rights are not affected.
International
International orders are subject to our international shipping rates. These vary according to the item(s) in the order.
Service Orders
Servicing orders require you to send an item to us for us to work on (eg repair services). In these cases, it is the buyer's responsibility to send the item(s) to us. We reccommend using a tracked service, and to insure any shipments of high value. Return shipping back to you is offered according to the terms above.
